BACKGROUND

For the information of all UniMAP's Staff and Student, the Digital Management and Development Centre (DMDC) has upgraded the University's main database from Oracle 11GR2 to Oracle 19C in September 2022."

The upgrading of the University's main database from Oracle 11GR2 to Oracle 19C in September 2022 has caused compatibility issues with the current UniMAP portal (http://portal.unimap.edu.my) which is based on the Oracle Portal 10G product purchased in 2007. The current UniMAP portal does not have any updated versions that can be used with the Oracle Database 19C upgrade.

It is mentioned that as an alternative to replace the old UniMAP portal, DMDC has identified the important contents of the portal and proposed platforms and methods for transferring the portal's content. Among the platforms that will be used as an alternative platform are the UniSIS System, OSI System, UniMAP's Official Website, PTJ Website, and e-Mesyuarat System.

THE ACTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN TAKEN

Here are the activities that have been carried out to ensure the smooth process of closing and transferring the content of the portal :
